Welcome to Cottage 2: Angel House, a spacious, four-room accommodation retreat that effortlessly blends old-world charm with modern comforts, creating the perfect environment for a sweet rest and sightseeing holiday.
The generously sized bedroom features a luxurious Queen Bed, where colonial elegance meets today’s conveniences, including a smart TV and a handy USB charging portal for all your devices. Across the hall, you'll find an elegant, fully renovated bathroom with a stunning clawfoot bathtub, shower, the authentic stained-glass window, colonial-style washstand, and separate toilet, offering all the amenities you need for a truly indulgent stay.
The cottage’s original pressed metal ceilings and wooden floorboards lend a timeless, rustic charm to the space, enhancing its welcoming atmosphere. The space embodies the experience of victorian living with it's cosy lighting and authentic warm colours (dark red floor, dark wood fireplace and classic wood furniture) so it feels like you're wrapped up safe inside. This means there are limitations on the modern amenities and architectural features but comfort and elegance have not been compromised.
Angel House holds a unique place in history as the oldest private residence in Stanley, originally built as a farmhouse around 1830. This historical treasure retains its original country character, with the immense, vintage kitchen featuring a 225-year-old (for display purposes only) fire oven - an iconic feature that adds to the cottage’s unforgettable beauty.
Come immerse yourself in history and experience the sense of tranquility provided within the walls of Angel's House. It’s the perfect setting for a cozy, memorable getaway.

Another unique feature of Angel House is its versatility to accommodate up to 4 guests, plus a cot by opening a secret hallway between Cottage 1 to Cottage 2. Making it the ideal choice for families or larger groups. The expanded space includes two bedrooms—one with a luxurious Queen Bed and the other with two cozy Single Beds. You'll also enjoy the convenience of both a full kitchen and a kitchenette, two inviting living rooms, and 2.5 beautifully appointed bathrooms.
Create unforgettable memories together, by relaxing next to one of the fireplaces with a glass of wine, having a special dinner celebration with the family or spending quality time with loved ones or friends. Once a small farm dairy dating back to the 1830s, Sea Angel Cottage has historical charm, with structural walls made from bluestone brought to Tasmania as ballast in English ships in the early 1800s.
